Lance Armstrong Holds Group Run in Montreal

Lance Armstrong's future participation in sanctioned road races may be uncertain, but there's nothing stopping him from organizing group training runs, which is what he did last night in Montreal.
Armstrong was in the Canadian city to speak at the World Cancer Congress, where he introduced himself as a seven-time Tour de France winner (a characterization the United States Anti-Doping Agency might take issue with). On Tuesday he Tweeted an invitation to run Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Mont Royal Park.
Armstrong said he was surprised that more than a hundred people showed up for the run, although his Twitter posting getting 661 retweets may have been an indication it would be a popular idea.
Armstrong, a 2:46 marathoner at his best, apparently didn't cater his pace to the masses. “He has a good pace, but we couldn’t see him because it was kind of like a wolf pack,” Gaston Mogollones, who ran near the front of the large pack, said. “He’s a strong man.”
